23-Sep-09 - On Saturday 4/22/06 we will be performing scheduled maintenance on our Control Panel, SiteStudio, NT15, NT31, and NT33 servers.
Starting at 5pm EST, we will be starting an update of our Control Panel and SiteStudio servers. The CP will be updated to H-Sphere 2.4.3 Patch 11. SiteStudio will be updated to version 1.7. The CP and SiteStudio servers will be inaccessible during the update process. We expect the update to take 4 hours and be complete by 9PM EST. No web/database/mail services will be interrupted due to the update.
Starting at 8PM EST, we will be upgrading the drives on servers NT31 and NT33. The servers will be taken offline and imaged to their new larger drives. Total downtime should be less than 2 hours.
NT15 will be taken offline at 9PM while its second processor is examined. The server is currently reporting only one operating processor. Total downtime will be 30 minutes. |
 |
8-Jun-07 - The servers in Florida are being hit with a Denial of Service attack (DOS). The technicians are trying to fight the attack to the best of their ability. During this time, there may be intermittent outtages of service. WEBuilder apologizes for this lack of service, and hopes that the attack will end soon. |
 |
15-May-07 - On Tuesday, 15-May-07, there was a failure of the main switch at the host in Florida. This caused the servers to be inaccessible for a short time until the switch was replaced. WEBuilder apologizes for the problems that this failure caused. The problem was repaired by 06:00 EDT, and everything is now reported working properly. |

31-Jan-07 - Saturday February 3rd at 11:00 EST the hosting company will begin running
check disk on 17 servers. This process will take 2 days. This process
will result in websites being unavailable
for the duration of time that it takes for check disk to run on the
affected servers.
Each server will take approximately 3 hours, and 3 servers will be checked every
3 hours between 11:00 EST and 23:00 EST on Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday, February
4th.
Below you will find a list of the affected servers and the order in which they
will be attended to:
Saturday, February 3rd
- NT6, NT16, NT18: 11:00 - 15:00 EST
- NT19, NT20, NT22: 15:88 - 18:00 EST
- NT23, NT27, NT42: 18:00 - 21:00 EST
Sunday February 4th
- NT46, NT48, NT50: 11:00 - 15:00 EST
- CF3, NT10, NT21: 15:00 - 18:00 EST
- NT29, NT36: 18:00 - 21:00 EST
All times are approximate. While it is estimated that check disk will take
3 hours to complete, it may take longer on some servers. WEBuilder will not be issuing
downtime credits for any sites that experience downtime because they are located
on the affected servers.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
How do you determine which server you are on?
- Login to the control panel at http://cp.webuilder.ws
- Click on FTP/User Account
- The value next to Host Name will indicate
your server. If it says nt41.webuilder.ws, then your
website is on server nt41.

27-Jan-07 - The Hosting Company is scheduling the installation of a significant
upgrade to the control panel software. This
upgrade will give you many new features, and will repair many bugs within
the control panel software. A full list of features and bug-fixes is
available at the
psoft website.
The upgrade process will begin on Sunday February 4th
during the hours of approximately 13:00 - 23:00 Eastern Standard Time (EST). At this
time the Hosting Company will run diagnostic programs on all the
servers to make sure that all the hardware components are running perfectly.
During this time the servers will be rebooted, so there may be some times
when you will not be able to access the servers.
On Monday, February 5th at 23:00 EST the hosting company will begin the
actual control panel upgrade process. It is predicted that the process
will take at least eight (8) hours;
however that is just an estimate and it may very well take longer due to the
magnitude of this upgrade. There will be sporadic reboots of all Windows
servers so the upgrade(s) can take effect.
Note that the upgrade is being done during the week because that is when the
technical support staff for pSoft (the makers of the control panel software) are
available. It is being started during the night in Orlando because that is the
slowest time of the day for the server usage and technical support.
If you should experience any problems or have questions about this upgrade,
please write to support@webuilder.co.il.
When you send an email to this address, it will automatically open up a support
ticket, and the WEBuilder support staff will be better able to track your
questions and ensure that they are answered in a timely manner.

16-Nov-06 - The problems on 15-Nov-06 with the mail servers were due to a DDoS attack.
The attack was from a botnet
of 40,000 computers spread around the globe that were attempting to connect to
the mail servers at a rate of 2000 connections per second.
Because the connection requests were otherwise
valid, it was difficult for the technicians to distinguish between when
customers were trying to connect and when the botnet was trying to connect.
As of now the botnet has ended its attack. However, if
you should experience any mail problems, please write to
support@webuilder.co.il |
 |
15-Nov-06 - WEBuilder will be in the USA from 2-Dec-06 until 13-Dec-06. We will try to check email multiple times during the day and attend to all problems, but will otherwise be on a limited schedule.
Thank you for your continued support of WEBuilder.
|
 |
15-Nov-06 - Mail servers 7 and 8 are being attacked by a "SYN Flood" from an outside source. The technicians are working hard to fend off this attack, and we hope that they will be successful in a very short time. You can find out which mail server you use from the DNS configuration screen, which is available from the Domain Info page on your control panel. Look in the right-most column of the "built-in MX record" section. The value here will be something like mail7.webuilder.ws, which would indicate (in this example) that you were on mail7.
We aplogize for any inconvenience that this has caused. |
 |
13-Sep-06 - On Wednesday, September 13th we will be replacing the system drive on server NT29. We will have to take the server offline while we mirror the drive. The expected downtime is less than 2 hours. The maintenance will start at 9PM EDT.
Updates will be given at the start and conclusion of the maintenance window. Any complications will be communicated.
We apologize for the short notice, but the system drive is throwing errors and it is best to not put this off. |
 |
22-Aug-06 - The mail2 server is being bombarded with over 1 gigabit of traffic every second, which is causing problems on this mail server and problems throughout the network. WEBuilder apologizes for any outtages you may still be experiencing, but please rest assured that technical support is working on the problems right now and they hope to have everything solved in a very short time.
Thank you for your understanding, and your continued support of WEBuilder. |
 |
18-Aug-06 - On Sunday, August 20th we will be replacing the system drive on server NT29. We will have to take the server offline while we mirror the drive. The expected downtime is less than 2 hours. The maintenance will start at 8PM EDT. |
 |
4-Aug-06 - NT4 will have a hardware upgrade on August 9. NT5 will have a hardware upgrade on Friday, August 11. Only minor downtime is expected. |
 |
4-Aug-06 - On Friday, 8/4/06 we will be performing maintenance on our Control Panel database. The maintenance will require taking the Control Panel offline while we compact its database. This maintenance is required in order to keep the control panel running at top speed.
The service window will begin at 10PM EST and will last 3 hours.
This maintenance will not affect your domains. All web, mail, and database servers will remain active during the service window |
 |
23-May-06 - Start time: 7:30 AM EST Tuesday 5/23/06
End time: 9:00 AM EST Tuesday 5/23/06
During this maintenance window, Orlando Utility Commission (OUC), the building Electric Utility will be conducting the second phase of their tests on the transformers that supply power to the Data Center. As a result we anticipate some utility power loss to the Data Center. We will be starting the generator and transferring the load to it prior to the testing and don't anticipate any power interruption. However, due to the nature of the work, you should consider this a precautionary notice and begin taking any necessary steps in anticipation of interruption of your hosting services.
The Support team will be closely monitoring the servers to ensure that this planned maintenance causes as little interruption to your services as possible.
Again, this work should not affect your service. |
 |
22-May-06 - On Monday 5/22/06 we will be migrating user data and settings from Unix4 to a new server.
Start time (Eastern): 2:00 PM Monday 5/22/06
End time (Eastern): 10:00 PM Monday 5/22/06
This is being done in response to a quota issue which can only be corrected by reinstalling the server's OS.
In an effort to minimize downtime for users, we have installed a new server which will run in parallel with Unix4. The user data will be copied while the server is live. When the data migration is complete, we will set Unix4's IPs on the new server.
The FTP service on Unix4 will be disabled at the start of the data migration in order to minimize content changes. All other services will remain online during the procedure.
Since the majority of the migration will be done while the server is live, we expect less than 1 hour of total downtime. |
 |
19-May-06 - On Friday 5/19/06 we will be performing scheduled maintenance on the Unix15 server.
Start Time: 3PM EST 5/19/06
End Time: 9PM EST 5/19/06
The home2 drive on this server is being upgraded to a larger capacity drive. We will be performing a live copy, so the FTP service will be shut down during the transfer. After the transfer is complete, Apache will be stopped as the drives are remounted. The total expected downtime is 5 - 10 minutes. |
 |
6-May-06 - On Sunday, May 7th Unix4 will have its motherboard replaced. The maintenance will begin at 8PM EST and is again expected to be less than 1 hour. |
 |
6-May-06 - On Saturday, May 6th we will be upgrading the data drive in NT30. We will have to take the server offline while we do the data transfer. The expected downtime is less than 1 hour. The maintenance will start at 8PM EST. |
 |
21-Mar-06 - On Friday, 3/24/06 we will be performing maintenance on our Control Panel database. The maintenance will require taking the Control Panel offline while we perform a complete dump and restore on its database. This maintenance is required in order to remove whitespace and reorder the database pages. The maintenace will begin at 22:00 EST on 3/24 and will last 3 hours. This maintenance will not affect your domains. All web, mail, and database servers will remain active during the procedure. |
 |
17-Mar-06 - We are scheduling a maintenance window for server NT33. The maintenance window is set for Saturday 3/18/06 at 10PM EST (05:00 IST 3/19) and will last until Sunday 3/19/06 at 3AM EST (10:00 IST). The server will be running a low-level check disk on its data drive during the window. |
 |
18-Feb-06 - We will be upgrading the hard drive on Unix5 Saturday 2/18/06. The downtime associated with the upgrade should be less than 30 minutes total. The server will be taken down so the new drive can be added, booted so the data can be copied live, and then rebooted a last time so the new drive can replace the old one. Each reboot should take less than 15 minutes each. The upgrade process will begin at 3PM EST.
The FTP service will be disabled during the copy so we can maintain as much data integrity as possible. |
 |
17-Feb-06 - WEBuilder will be closed for Passover from 12-Apr-06 until 19-Apr-06. During this time we will be monitoring email and server status, and responding to emergency situations, only. Please keep this in mind when planning projects. During this time, you can reach WEBuilder via email or via phone at 972-547-51-4254. WEBuilder wishes all of its clients a Happy Passover Holiday! |
 |
16-Feb-06 - On Friday, 2/17/06 we will be taking the Core Switch and CP Database down for maintenance. The core switch will be getting an OS upgrade. The expected downtime is less than 30 minutes.
The CP database will be taken down while we perform a full vacuum and reorder the database contents. This will improve performance and stability both on the database and the CP. The expected downtime is 6 hours.
Both the core switch and CP database maintenance will start at 11PM EST (04:00 GMT 2/18). |
 |
26-Jan-06 - NT4 will be taken down on Saturday 1/28/06 so that one of its hard drives can be imaged and replaced. The hard drive has been throwing errors in the server logs and we want to replace the drive before it escalates into a serious issue.
Depending on the state of the drive, our worst-case timeframe for the imaging is 3 hours. The server will be taken down at 9PM EST and should be back up on the new drive by 12AM EST 1/29. |
 |
14-Jan-06 - The H-Sphere upgrade to version 2.4.3 patch 9 has been reschedued to 1:00PM EST (18:00 GMT) on 1/18/06.
The upgrade will include the control panel as well as all Unix web, Mail, MySQL, and PGSQL servers. All NT, CF, and MSSQL servers have already been upgraded. Control panel access will be intermittent during the upgrade as well as other hosting services while their servers are upgraded. |
 |
7-Jan-06 - On Saturday 1/7/06 we will be upgrading the data drive on Mail8. The current drive is at 90% usage. We will be replacing the drive with one that is twice as large and 50% faster.
Due to the size of the drive and the number of small files, it will take approximately 2 hours to do the copy. In order to maintain consistency, mail services will be disabled during the copy process. Mail will not be lost during this upgrade, its delivery will simply be delayed.
The upgrade will start at 10PM EST (03:00 GMT 1/8) and will be complete within 2 hours |
 |
1-Jan-06 - WEBuilder standard hourly rate is now $46/hour, up $1. All other design rates are also up $1. Web Hosting rates are unchanged - we hope to be able to bring you more hosting storage during '06 at the same prices you are paying (stay tuned for details). |
 |
18-Dec-05 - We will be replacing the hardware for NT38 on Tuesday 20-Dec-05. The FTP and H-Sphere services will be shut down while we perform a live mirror. This will make the server as read-only as possible while maintaining web access. Please do not make changes to your files until after the hardware is changed out. |
 |
14-Dec-05 - We will be replacing the hardware on NT38 today. We will be shutting down the FTP and H-Sphere services while we perform a live mirror. This will prevent changes from being made on the server, while maintaining web access. We will announce when it is complete. There will be about 5-10 minutes of downtime while the new server is booted after the mirror. |
 |
30-Nov-05 - All repairs to server NT38 have been completed. If you are still experiencing any problems on this server, please contact WEBuilder support. |
 |
29-Nov-05 - The hard drive and the backup hard drive on server NT38 failed. Both drives were replaced and a restoration of the data for the 100,000+ accounts is now in progress. |
 |
27-Nov-05 - We are upgrading the hard drives on several NT servers. The old 36GB drives are being replaced with 73GB drives.
The first NT servers to receive the new drives will be NT1, NT2, and NT3. The process will require two reboots and about 30-45 minutes of IIS downtime for each server. The process will begin at 10PM EST tonight (03:00 GMT 11/27/05). |
 |
